The WSOPC Uruguay One Day High Roller was worth the circuit ring, in addition to slices of the US$ 129,200 prize pool. The field registered 76 entries, and Eduardo Silva finished in third place, securing US$ 15,941. The big champion was André Schachter, a local player, taking US$ 37,468 and the jewel by beating the Norwegian Birger Larsen in heads-up.

The result alone would already be remarkable, but Eduardo Silva’s journey at the final table makes the story even better. This is because he started the decision as a short stack, suffering a big blow just before the FT bubble. However, the Brazilian’s path was one of recovery, and after growing, he made eliminations to reach the chip lead.

Eduardo Silva held the reins in the 3-handed until a fatal sequence against Larsen. The Norwegian was put against the wall by the Brazilian and called all-in holding JJ, while Silva had A3o, and the pocket pair held. Next, it was the Brazilian’s turn to shove with 65o and the Norwegian to call with Q3o. Once again, the board did not change the pre-flop scenario.

Besides Eduardo Silva, the Brazilian Luiz Duarte also featured in the ITM of 12 players. He ended up falling in tenth place, taking home US$ 4,108. Other names from the national poker scene, such as Léo Rizzo, Dan Almeida, Iago Savino, and Hélio Neves, joined the contest but fell before the money.

However, the result continues a positive moment for Brazil at the Uruguayan live tables. This is because at the Enjoy Poker Tour, recently concluded, Felipe Costa also featured on the podium of a tough contest, the Super High Roller, the highest buy-in of the series held in Punta del Este.
