Brazil returned to the top of the podium at the Triton Super High Roller Series Jeju II. On this Friday (11), Pedro Padilha won the title of the US$ 50,000 NLH and secured US$ 1,400,860. Thus, the professional achieved his first victory in the high rollers circuit.

Therefore, Padilha became only the fourth Brazilian to win a title at Triton Poker. The 39-year-old player overcame a field of 129 entries, which took the total prize pool to over US$ 6 million. In this way, he confirmed his good form also in live tournaments.
However, the Brazilian had to overcome a tough final table before lifting the trophy. Names like Phil Ivey, Kiat Lee, and Alex Boika remained in the competition for much of the decision. Still, Padilha gained ground in the final stretch and reached the heads-up against Nick Petrangelo.
Additionally, with a chip advantage in the duel, Padilha and Petrangelo reached an ICM deal. The Brazilian secured US$ 1,350,860, while the American guaranteed US$ 1,201,140. Moreover, the two left US$ 50,000 and the title at stake, and Padilha prevailed shortly after.

Pedro Padilha celebrates victory and sends a message to Brazil
However, Padilha did not hide his happiness with the result in Jeju. The Brazilian highlighted the importance of the tournament and celebrated another international achievement. “It is the best feeling. It is an incredible event, an incredible tournament, and I am very happy”, declared the champion.
Thus, Padilha spoke about his decision to play more tournaments outside South America in recent years. “I have always played live in Brazil, in South America, but in recent years I have tried to expand to other tournaments. And it has been good. I am happy with my results”, he said. Then, he also thanked the support from Brazilians: “People are very happy for me. I have many friends watching. I want to send a kiss to all the Brazilian people”.
Finally, the champion also praised Nick Petrangelo after the heads-up. “He is a legend. He is a tough player. I was running well, that’s it”, said Padilha. With the victory and the US$ 1,400,860, the Brazilian confirmed his first title at Triton and expanded the list of great results for the country in the circuit.
