Brazilian star Yuri Martins did not waste any time to start shining at the WSOP (World Series of Poker). This Tuesday (26), the first day of the world series in Las Vegas (USA), the player from Paraná went to the tables of the Event 2 (US$ 5,000 8-Handed NLH) and advanced as chip leader.

The first round of Event 2 recorded 415 entries, qualifying 142 players after ten levels of play. Yuri Martins appears in the lead with 715,000 chips, equivalent to an incredible 286 big blinds at the start of the next stage. For comparison, the starting stack is 50,000 chips.
Next, the top 3 also includes the American Peter Cross, with 525,000, and the Bulgarian Yuliyan Kolev, with 470,500. The list of the top ten chip counts also features names like Clemen Deng (6th, 358,500) and Ren Lin (10th, 316,500). Further down, figures like Martin Kabrhel (298,000) and the Brazilian Vitor Dzivielevski (83,500) appear.

Day 2 of Event 2 of the WSOP will take place this Wednesday (27) at 4 pm (Brasília time), and players will still be able to make entries and re-entries during the first two levels of the round. The game will resume at levels 1,000/2,500 bb ante 2,500, and the blinds increase every 60 minutes.
