João Simão advances to Day 2 of the 25K High Roller at WSOP

Brazilian João Simão managed to advance to Day 2 of Event 19 (US$ 25,000 High Roller NLH) of the WSOP (World Series of Poker) this Thursday (4) in Las Vegas (USA). The star, who resides in the USA, bagged his chips on Day 1B, the last qualifying round of the competition.

In the sum of the two initial rounds, the 25K High Roller registered 248 entries, qualifying 79 competitors for Day 2. João Simão appears in 45th position in the chip count, with 282,000 chips, while the partial lead is held by Spaniard Yaman Nakdali, with 1,996,000.

Following in the chip count is another Spaniard, Jon Vallinas, with 1,285,000, and Belarusian Ihar Soika completes the top 3 with 1,254,000 chips. The 25K High Roller resumes its action this Friday (5) at 4 PM (Brasília time) with blinds 5,000/10,000 bb ante 10,000.

The competition field is expected to increase at the start of this Day 2, as late registration will remain open until 5:15 PM. Those who choose to enter will receive an initial stack of 150,000 chips. The structure of Event 19 provides for ten levels in this stage, with the tournament concluding on Saturday (6).

Furthermore, in addition to João Simão in Event 19, another three Brazilians bagged chips this Thursday at the WSOP.
