Victor Onizuka wins BSOP Championship after long Final Day at BSOP Summer

In the current setup of the Brazilian Series of Poker stages, the main highlight of the final stretch is the BSOP Championship. The competition, with a buy-in of R$ 25,000, marked a significant turning point in the scene by uniting large sums of money and a wide variety of players, due to the qualification methods. And at BSOP Summer, Victor Onizuka took home the title.

A regular name among professionals, especially online, Victor Onizuka managed to overcome a field of 206 entries and secured R$ 789,000. This amount was the result of a deal made at the 3-handed stage, which allocated R$ 581,000 to the runner-up Matheus Machado, and R$ 710,000 to the third-place finisher Rafael Tabalipa.

The highlight of the final table, held on Saturday (31st), the last day of BSOP Summer, was the high technical level. Prominent names in the national scene were present at the final decision, which was entirely composed of Brazilians. In addition to the podium members, the final table included figures such as João Valli – who led at one point in the tournament – Thiago Crema, and Saymon Dias, among others.

Furthermore, throughout the final table, it became evident that the studied play and the deep structure would result in a true marathon. And so it was: Victor Onizuka only managed to confirm his title after 13 hours of Final Day. This performance earned him the largest share of the R$ 4.5 million prize pool.

However, it wasn’t just the final table that was star-studded. The entire ITM, comprising 31 players, featured famous names, such as the bubble boy of the final table Yago Simplício (10th, R$ 82,000). Finally, other notable players who made it into the money were Enio Bozzano (12th, R$ 72,500), Gerson Braga (19th, R$ 52,500), Lucas Rocha (22nd, R$ 48,000), and Rafael Furlanetto (23rd, R$ 48,000).
