Gaúcho Leonardo Carlessi started ahead in the race for the 2026 Brazilian poker championship. After the first stage of the national circuit, the BSOP Summer in Costa do Sauípe (BA), the Samba Team professional appears at the top of the points race. At the festival, he took the opportunity to win two tournaments.

In the first partial of the season, Leonardo Carlessi is in the lead with 2,149 points. The largest portion that contributed to this score was the title in the Mini Championship, which earned him 1,100. Shortly before, he had already won the Freezeout, adding another 608. To complete the count, there was also an eighth place in the Grand High Roller, resulting in 441 points.
Thus, he leads the race after one stage, but without a large lead. This is because Tiago Pinheiro comes right after in the standings with 2,085 points, close behind Leonardo Carlessi. Pinheiro also won two titles at BSOP Summer – Night Turbo PLO5 PKO and Omaha PKO – in addition to two other podiums and two more Final Tables, focusing mainly on the Omaha modality.
Following in the standings are Renan Buriti, with 1,870 points, and the Chilean Jorge Romero, with 1,840. Closing out the top 5 is Aloísio Dourado, champion of the BSOP Summer Main Event. He has 1,804 points, the result of only two campaigns. However, they were two titles, with the win in the 8-Game along with the Main Event.

Four more point races
In addition to the overall ranking, currently led by Leonardo Carlessi, the BSOP holds four other point competitions. In the Omaha ranking, it is no surprise that Tiago Pinheiro is at the top, as he had such great success in the modality during the Summer that he almost took the lead in the overall standings.
In the High Roller ranking, the current leader is Ivan Limeira, champion of the Grand High Roller, with 1,104 points. In a tight race, all other members of the top 5 are tied: Thiago Crema, Victor Onizuka, Matheus Machado, and Rafael Tabalipa, with 1,008 points each.
In the Mixed Games ranking, Pedro Barossi leads after accumulating 1,076 points from four campaigns. Of these, three were podium finishes, including the win in the HORSE. Finally, in the Player of the Year ranking, Luzia Serafim is in first place. She made the podium in the Last Chance Deepstack and also had two point-scoring campaigns in the Super 500 editions.
