On Monday (9), Brazilian Yuri Martins broke through at the PokerGO Tour, winning Event 5 of the PGT Mixed Games. And on Tuesday (10), he returned to a heads-up in the series played in Las Vegas (USA). This time, he came close, being stopped only by American Qinghai Pan.

On the day he confirmed the title of Event 5, Yuri Martins had advanced to the final table of Event 6 (US$ 15,200 Dealer’s Choice) in the lead. However, he saw Pan have an impeccable performance in the decisive round, overpowering his opponents and reaching the heads-up with a significant advantage, with no problems confirming the title.
Thus, Yuri Martins pocketed US$ 171,000 for second place among 57 entries. Pan, in turn, earned US$ 273,600 and the champion’s trophy. Chad Eveslage completed the podium in a FT that also included names like Bryn Kenney and John “Angry” Monnette.

Furthermore, with this new achievement, Qinghai Pan takes the lead in the PGT Mixed Games rankings. He reaches 478 points, with one title and three cashes. Yuri Martins, with two cashes, is right behind, boasting 347 points.
The PGT Mixed Games will hold one more event, the US$ 25,300 Dealer’s Choice, closing its schedule with a flourish. Following that, the top players will move up the stakes to the Super High Roller Bowl Mixed, with a buy-in of US$ 100,000. Yuri Martins is already confirmed for the most expensive competition.
