The current edition of Triton Jeju, in South Korea, had a special attraction on the schedule. Event 12 was an anniversary tournament, with a US$ 150,000 buy-in, celebrating the ten years of the Super High Roller series. And fate willed that Paul Phua, one of the circuit’s creators, would achieve the ultimate glory.

A player from Malaysia, Paul Phua is known in the Triton halls as “Boss”. This is because, in addition to being the creator and founder, he has been part of the organization from the very first moment, always believing in the success of the series, which is seen in practice today. Moved, the Malaysian had a great celebration in the hall last Friday (27).
The expensive tournament attracted 81 entries, generating a prize pool of US$ 12.150.000. The largest share, belonging to Paul Phua, was simply US$ 3.226.000, the biggest of a career that dates back to 2012 and already accumulates more than US$ 37,5 million in payouts, according to Hendon Mob.
Phua started the final table with an intermediate stack, but while the others got involved in big pots and all-ins, the Malaysian managed his stack. That’s how he reached heads-up against Brandon Wilson, with the advantage for the American. Phua, however, turned it around and confirmed the victory with QQ versus A8. Even as runner-up, Wilson also achieved his biggest career score.
