Amid a field of 533 entries, Fernando Araújo was able to reach fourth place, pocketing US$ 44,170 for his performance. His great result joins others secured in parallel events throughout the WSOPC Uruguay, such as Willian Cestari’s, who even won the circuit ring in the Mystery Bounty.
Shortly before Fernando Araújo’s elimination, another Brazilian had left the competition. Henrique Lessa finished the Main Event campaign in seventh place, and for this performance, received US$ 16,930. The great glory went to Argentine Damián Salas, a renowned figure in the South American scene.

2020 WSOP Main Event Champion Damián Salas became champion again in Uruguay after 13 years. This is because, in 2013, he won the US$ 5,000 High Roller of the LAPT Grand Final in Punta del Este, for US$ 107,800. Now, he pockets another US$ 142,692 for the most recent victory, in addition to his first WSOP Circuit ring.
In the heads-up, Damián Salas started at a disadvantage against compatriot Lucas Cortijo. However, it did not take long for him to turn it around, and once he took the reins, he never looked back. Holding 55, Salas put Cortijo against the wall, and the opponent called, revealing A9s. The help he needed did not come on the TT84Q board with no flush possibilities.
