An important name in Gaucho poker, Marcus Borges performed well at the tables of the neighboring state. In Balneário Camboriú (SC), he won the Welcome High Roller of the KSOP South America, a R$ 10 thousand buy-in tournament. The competition was the highlight of the first days of the Santa Catarina series.

With the most expensive buy-in so far, the Welcome High Roller held two days of competition and attracted 42 entries. By becoming the champion, Marcus Borges secured R$ 117 thousand. The last opponent in his way was Daniel Croce, who took R$ 77 thousand for the runner-up spot, while Kaio Camargo took R$ 53.150 for third place.
In short, the KSOP South America Welcome High Roller rewarded the top six finishers, and besides Marcus Borges, Croce and Camargo, two of the other three in the ITM are foreigners. Giuseppe Calio and Yannick Capocetti, both Argentines, took R$ 39 thousand and R$ 30 thousand for fourth and fifth places, respectively. Bruno Ewerton completed the list of winners, with R$ 23 thousand in sixth.
More champions at KSOP South America
Also among the initial highlights of the series, a tournament that caught attention was the Freerake. In this competition, the buy-in was free, with re-entries at R$ 300 for a more robust stack. Finally, the competition proved to be a success, recording a field of 1.285 entries.

Ramon Fritsch was crowned champion of the Freerake, taking R$ 37 thousand. Thanks to a 3-handed deal, the same value was also given to the other two members of the podium. Thus, Rodrigo Castro and Délcio Baraúna also took R$ 37 thousand, each.
Furthermore, the R$ 2.500 Deep Stack also stirred the Santa Catarina tables. Unlike the other two mentioned tournaments, this one had a single-day structure this Thursday (9), attracting 30 entries. When it all ended, Julio Rohden celebrated the title, pocketing R$ 20.800. Roger Ruivo was the runner-up for R$ 14 thousand, while Ax de Castro stayed in third, securing R$ 9.800.
