On this Thursday (7), Kelvin Kerber achieved the first major Brazilian result in the current edition of the EPT Monte Carlo. At the traditional PokerStars festival, the Samba Team professional reached the heads-up of a €50,000 buy-in tournament, securing a hefty payout.

Kelvin Kerber’s remarkable performance came in the €50,000 Super High Roller Second Chance. Among a qualified field of 41 entries, the Brazilian finished in second place. Thus, he pocketed €447,500. The only one to surpass him was the Turkish Orpen Kisacikoglu, who took home €686,210 for the title, while Juan Pardo completed the podium.

In the final standings, it is revealed that the hope for a very valuable second championship lasted until the 4-handed stage. This is because the fourth-place finisher Alex Kulev already holds the title of the most expensive tournament at EPT Monte Carlo, the €250,000 Super High Roller. On that occasion, he overcame 38 entries and pocketed no less than €2,786,332, in a final table where Kisacikoglu was also present.

Earlier at EPT Monte Carlo, the highest stakes players had already gathered in the €100,000 High Roller for One Drop. The competition, which raised funds for the charity supporting water supply to those in need, brought together an even larger field of 76 entries.

Finally, it was the Lebanese Albert Daher who took the title. For the win, he pocketed €2,055,000, the second largest payout of his career, behind only the US$3.4 million earned for third place in the 250K Triton Invitational at last WSOP Paradise. Stephen Chidwick, with €1,325,700, was second, and the Italian Leonardo Drago third for €947,000.

And to close the list of EPT Monte Carlo High Roller champions, it is also worth highlighting the win of Montenegrin Dejan Kaladjurdjevic. He won the €50,000 No-Limit Hold’em overcoming 43 competitors to take home €727,115. On the podium were two other renowned pros: Mikita Badziakouski (2nd, €474,100) and Adrian Mateos (3rd, €326,600).
