Mario Mosböck wins Triton Montenegro Event 3 after marathon at FT

Austrian Mario Mosböck won Event 3 (US$ 30,000 NLH 8-Handed) of the Triton Montenegro after a true marathon at the final table. In a decision that lasted almost ten hours, the player claimed his fourth title on the circuit, just as Daniel Dvoress did in Event 1.

Event 3 of the very expensive series recorded 133 entries, reaching a prize pool of US$ 3,990,000. The largest share went to Mario Mosböck, who pocketed US$ 928,000. In the heads-up, which coincidentally was between two Triton ambassadors, Danny Tang took second place and US$ 628,000.

In short, Mosböck started the final table as chip leader, but that only made a difference up to a certain point. Throughout the marathon that was the decision, several players took the lead, including not only Tang but also Javid Ismayilov and Kristen Foxen, who finished third and fourth, respectively. In the end, the Austrian managed to regain control.

Just before, Triton Montenegro also concluded Event 2 (US$ 25,000 NLH 8-Handed). Although it had an even more accessible buy-in compared to Event 3, the field was slightly smaller, with 119 entries, but still distributed a notable US$ 2,975,000 in payouts.

After all, better for the Russian Anatoly Zlotnikov, who confirmed the victory and the prize of US$ 715,000, his second title in Triton tournaments. Unlike Event 3, the final table of this competition was fast and without many leadership changes. After Zlotnikov reached the top in chips, he dominated and racked up eliminations to confirm the title.

The last opponent on Zlotnikov’s path was Tunisian Maher Nouira, who took US$ 486,000 for second place. Zhang Yu from China completed the podium in a final table that also featured names of the caliber of Jason Koon, Mikita Badziakouski, and Aleksejs Ponakovs. Ethan Yau, the “Rampage,” who usually appears in cash game contests, was also at the FT.
