Iago Botelho leads six finalists in WSOP Paradise Event 14

Brazilian Iago Botelho is close to the world series bracelet and a millionaire payday. This Tuesday (16), he took to the tables of Event 14 (US$ 25,000 GGMillion$ Single Day Turbo) of the WSOP Paradise, in the Bahamas, and advanced to the Final Day, which was not planned, in the chip lead.

The competition, as the name suggests, was scheduled to take place in a single day, but as it extended late into the night, it stopped with 6 players left from the field of 287 entries. Iago Botelho is at the top of the chip count with 33,800,000 chips, almost half of the chips in play.

In the rest of the chip count, Iago Botelho is followed by the “hermano” Ramiro Petrone, who has 13,300,000 and is closely followed by the Finn Eelis Parssinen, owner of 12,300,000 chips. Serbia, France, and the USA complete the list of remaining players.

At the final table, Ukrainian Denys Chufarin was the first to leave the competition, in ninth place for US$ 123,400. Americans Eric Yanovsky (8th, US$ 157,300) and David Chen (7th, US$ 205,000) also concluded their disputes at the FT, while the bubble of the decision was the Moroccan Mehdi Chaoui, champion in Brazil weeks ago, with US$ 98,900 for tenth place.

Besides Iago Botelho, Brazil had two other representatives in the ITM, which awarded 44 players with a prize pool of US$ 7,318,500. Felipe Ketzer came close to the final table and fell in 12th place, securing US$ 81,000. Gabriel Tavares, however, finished in 30th place for a prize of US$ 55,500.

The conclusion of Event 14 of the WSOP Paradise will be this Wednesday (17) at 4 PM (Brasília time), starting from blinds 400,000/800,000 with an 800,000 ante. The minimum prize in the extra round is US$ 272,600, and the top two will take home seven figures. The champion, finally, will receive US$ 1,534,645 and the world series bracelet.
