However, this wait now has an end date. In a social media post, Sérgio Prado announced that ESPN Brasil will resume broadcasting the WSOP. “We are back, the biggest poker championship in the world returns to ESPN Brasil channels with narration by Ari Aguiar and commentary by Sérgio Prado”, he wrote.
Moreover, since the beginning of the series, one of the main novelties was the return of ESPN to the WSOP broadcasts. However, until now, the audience followed the tournaments only through Disney’s streaming platform. At the same time, all broadcasts featured only narration and commentary in English.
Now, the chemistry between Ari Aguiar and Sérgio Prado is also back. For years, the duo marked an era by combining information and entertainment in poker broadcasts. “It will be amazing to be able to follow live and in Portuguese who will take the most coveted poker bracelet, besides the ten million dollars”, stated Sérgio Prado in the post.

Thus, the broadcasts start next Friday (24th). From 9 PM, the ESPN3 channel will air two special programs summarizing the WSOP Main Event. The audience will be able to follow the formation of the final table and the eliminations of big names, including Todd Brunson, son of the legend Doyle Brunson.
Additionally, the Main Event final table will have live coverage on ESPN3, starting at 10 PM. The decision will have three days of competition, beginning on Monday (August 3rd) and continuing over the next two days. The American Lucas Jumalon, aged 22, arrives at the final as the chip leader, with a significant chip advantage.
Finally, Brazil will not have representatives at the final table. The best Brazilian in the tournament was Arthur Campos, eliminated in 125th place and awarded US$ 65,000. Furthermore, the WSOP 2026 Main Event recorded 9,208 entries, a number lower than in recent editions, but still among the largest in the tournament’s history.
