This Thursday (17), they met again in a decisive duel, and this time, they made a deal to practically split the title, with the trophy going to Petrangelo, in a cordial moment.

On the last day of the Super High Roller series in South Korea, the action ended with the Event 15 (US$ 150,000 10th Anniversary Special), which recorded 67 entries and had a prize pool of US$ 10,050,000. The terms of the deal took into account the ICM and gave the largest amount to João Simão, who took home US$ 2,517,090.
Nick Petrangelo, in turn, pocketed a total of US$ 2,212,910, as he secured a smaller amount at the time of the deal but won the remaining US$ 80,000 that the heads-up was to decide. Right after closing the deal, the players played three hands, all of which were all in and call. Petrangelo started by doubling with AJs versus 94o, and took the lead next, defeating the Brazilian’s 33 with T2o.
In the final hand, it was Simão’s turn to try to double, with only 5 bbs behind. However, the Brazilian was no match for Petrangelo’s A9s, who confirmed the victory, taking the trophy and his third biggest cash of his career, according to Hendon Mob. Moreover, it was also the American’s first title in Triton tournaments.

Thus, João Simão ends a journey at Triton Jeju with virtually US$ 10 million in earnings. In ten participations, the Brazilian cashed in four, totaling US$ 9.8 million in total payouts. Undoubtedly, one of the greatest streaks in the history of Brazilian and world poker.

In the heads-up, he defeated the Malaysian Kiat Lee, who had already won a title in this festival, and this time took US$ 176,000 for second place. Matthias Eibinger completed the podium with US$ 112,000, and the ITM closed with Punnat Punsri (4th, US$ 81,000) and Ben Tollerene (5th, US$ 65,000).
