The city of Fortaleza is the stage for another leg of the KSOP. With that, the capital of Ceará is ready to welcome a true legion of poker players, both Brazilian and foreign. On the first day of the series, this Thursday (13), the one who did well was an Argentine. The star born in Rosario, Luciano Cabral, won the first title of the festival.

Thus, he was crowned champion of the High Roller Light One Day. The tournament, with a buy-in of R$ 5,000, registered 29 entries and generated a prize of R$ 41,000 for the winner. To claim the title, the player had to overcome a tough final table, which included regular names from the circuit, such as Peterson Machado and Ramon Pessoa.

However, Luciano Cabral‘s surge happened at 4-handed. The Argentine received AA and faced a triple all-in, while the two opponents held QQ. “With this hand, I tripled my stack and then I didn’t stop”, said the champion in an interview with Mundo Poker, the outlet responsible for the official coverage of the event.

Additionally, the tournament podium was completed by Fabiano Lima, who finished in second place. For his excellent performance, the player received R$ 30,700. Third place went to Andre Luiz Santos, who secured a reward of R$ 20,500. Only the top five finishers received prizes.

However, it was not only Argentina that celebrated a title on this first day of KSOP Fortaleza. The Brazilian Fábio Santana also shouted champion. He overcame 32 entries in the Kings Turbo, a PLO5 format tournament with a buy-in of R$ 750. For the result, the player won a prize of R$ 6,200.

Thus, also in an interview with Mundo Poker, the player revealed that he participated in the event for the first time. Furthermore, the champion stated that he will compete in other tournaments of the series. According to Fábio, the Warm-Up and the Main Event are among the main goals in the coming days.

Finally, it is worth highlighting that the competition awarded the top five finishers. The podium included Diego Pereira Ferraz in second place, securing R$ 3,350. Besides him, regular Paulo Gini received the third place trophy and increased his bankroll by R$ 3,400.
