Brazil made history again at the GGPoker WSOP Online. This Tuesday (18), Lucas Teixeira won the title of Event #2, the US$ 300 Gladiators of Poker, and secured another bracelet for the country. In addition, the Brazilian led a final table with three national representatives.

Thus, to win the title, Teixeira had to overcome a huge field of 17,077 entries. Even so, the Brazilian turned the US$ 300 buy-in into a prize of US$ 579,752. As a result, Lucas secured one of the biggest cashes of the competition.
Additionally, besides the cash prize, the champion received a US$ 30,000 Super Pass for the WSOP Paradise. The package also includes accommodation at Baha Mar in the Bahamas. Therefore, the achievement was even more significant for the Brazilian.
However, Rafael Barcia and Luciano Hollanda also reached the final table. Thus, Brazil placed three players among the top nine of the tournament. In the end, Lucas took the bracelet, Rafael finished third, and Luciano took seventh place. This is the 56th bracelet for Brazil at the WSOP, combining live and online events.

Lucas Teixeira recovers and wins heads-up
However, in the decisive stretch, Lucas Teixeira took a dominant position. Moreover, Rafael Barcia also accumulated many chips and the two Brazilians managed to open a lead over their opponents. Nevertheless, the battle shifted with the comeback of Sunaina Bhartia.
Thus, the Sri Lankan player survived critical moments and reached the heads-up against Lucas. First, Bhartia turned the match around and started to pressure the Brazilian. However, Teixeira found a set in a decisive pot and regained control of the match.
Finally, Lucas Teixeira took the lead again and did not waste the opportunity. Bhartia put his last 26 big blinds in the middle with Q2s against the Brazilian’s AJs. The board 85834 confirmed Lucas’s victory and secured the second Brazilian title in two WSOP Online tournaments this year.
