Brazilian Ramon Kropmanns came close to the title of the GGMillion$ High Rollers US$ 10,000 this Tuesday (1st) at GGPoker. The Midas Team professional finished in fourth place, earning a nice prize of over 200 thousand dollars. His conqueror was the Latvian Aleksejs Ponakovs, who was crowned champion moments later.

This week’s GGMillion$ had 252 entries, and by reaching fourth place, Ramon Kropmanns pocketed US$ 218,523. Ponakovs, in turn, pocketed US$ 476,603 for the title, in addition to the entry to the GGMillion$ Live at WSOP Paradise. This was the sixth title of the Latvian star in GGMillion$ editions, a remarkable mark that proves why he is one of the most respected players in the world scene.

Ramon Kropmanns’ campaign at the final table did not have many threats. The moment of elimination came right on the first hand in which he was the short stack. At blinds 125,000/250,000 ante 30,000, chip leader Ponakovs made a miniraise from the cutoff.

Everyone folded until the action reached Kropmanns, in the big blind. He announced an all-in of 4,051,609, receiving a quick call. At showdown, the Brazilian showed A7s, while the Latvian revealed 99, and the flip did not bring the help Kropmanns needed. Right after the board T54K5 without any card of the suit the Brazilian had, he said goodbye to the contest.
At this moment, Ponakovs came to have more than half of the chips in play, and this dominance continued until the end of the tournament. When Guillaume Nolet managed to practically tie the stacks, it was time when all chips went to the center, and the Latvian’s TT beat the Canadian’s 44 on the board 77358.
