Felipe Baraky took advantage of Wednesday’s (9th) round that formed the FT and placed himself among the remaining players, staying alive in the fight for the ring and a million-dollar prize.

With entries equivalent to US$ 3,615, or about R$ 18,500, the Main Event of the Canadian stage of the WSOP Circuit registered 2,844 entries. This field was reduced to nine players on Wednesday, and Felipe Baraky appears in fourth place in the chip count, with 15,400,000 chips.
The partial lead is held by Canadian Mayukh Chakraborty, who has 25,600,000 chips. He is followed by the renowned American Chance Kornuth, who has 24,100,000. Jonathan Bussieres, also from Canada, completes the top 3 chip count of mostly host country players.

Brazil came close to having another representative at this FT, as Gualter Salles also made the final stretch. He ended up falling in 22nd place with a bad beat in a triple all-in. Holding AKs, he faced QQ and A5s, and the board T653A without a flush gave the victory to the weakest pre-flop hand, thanks to two pairs. For his performance, Salles earned CA$ 65,000.

This competition also featured the most illustrious Canadian in the poker universe. Daniel Negreanu fell still on Tuesday’s (8th) round, eliminated by Kornuth in a TT against AKo. “Kid Poker” suffered a bad beat on the river, as the American formed the winning pair on the last card of the 6553A board. Negreanu finished in 99th place, taking CA$ 14,500.
The final table of the WSOP Super Circuit Canada Main Event will take place this Thursday (10th) starting at 12 PM (Brasília time), with blinds at 150,000/300,000 bb ante 300,000. The qualifiers have already secured at least CA$ 150,000 (~US$ 108,000), and the champion will take CA$ 1,500,000 (~US$ 1.08 million), in addition to the circuit ring.
