The Brazilian “jitsu4life” was able to overcome the entire field of 341 entries in Event 124-High (US$ 530 NLH PKO Warm-Up) of the New Year Series. Immediately after completing this impeccable campaign, the player won US$ 33,800, by far the country’s biggest result of the session.
However, Brazil also stood out in a more accessible version of the event. In the 124-Medium, with a US$ 55 buy-in, “AArKKas13” reached the heads-up, finishing second out of 4,436 for US$ 14,412. “jaimico00793” was fourth for US$ 6,135, while Felipe Peres “Felipe688” took US$ 5,344 in sixth.

Just like “jitsu4life”, other Brazilians reached the top of the podium in PokerStars Sunday events. Among the regulars, Andrey Lamego “Lamego10” took down the US$ 109 Sunday StacKOsaurus, surpassing 623 actions to pocket US$ 9,664. In the US$ 27 Sunday Eliminator, Paulo Taconi “fullTaconi” was first out of 3,226 for US$ 8,517, with “tigasAA” in second (US$ 6,349).
And still in the New Year Series, there was room for other valuable final tables. Diogo Brombim “khalifaman00” reached the heads-up of the 131-Medium (US$ 109 NLH Turbo PKO), finishing second out of 1,232 for US$ 10,243. In the 132-Medium (US$ 55 NLH 7-max Turbo Mystery Bounty Sunday Cooldown), “PETER_3BET” did well, taking US$ 7,732 for the runner-up finish among 2,822 actions.
