João Simão secures another award at Triton; Daniel Dvoress is three-time champion

The Triton Montenegro ended last Thursday (28), with another good result from João Simão. The Brazilian player finished Event #18 US$ 25K PLO Turbo Bounty Quattro in 4th place, receiving a total reward of US$ 115 thousand. The great champion was Daniel Dvoress, who took the third trophy of the stage and another US$ 367,500.

Additionally, the tournament recorded 46 entries and distributed a total prize pool of US$ 1,150,000. Simão started the final table with the fourth largest stack among the seven survivors. The lead at that moment was held by the Spaniard Lautaro Guerra, closely followed by Daniel Dvoress and Patrik Antonius.

However, when the tournament reached 4-handed, Simão lost a big pot to Daniel Dvoress and was left with less than a blind. In the next hand, the Brazilian was eliminated by Lautaro Guerra. Of the US$ 115 thousand won, US$ 25 thousand came from bounties for eliminations.

In addition to this, it is worth recalling that João Simão had already won another big prize in this stage of the series. In Event #4 Mystery Bounty, he finished in 11th place, within the payout zone. However, upon opening the mystery envelope, he found the “top bounty” worth US$ 400 thousand.

However, the big name of this Triton stage is Daniel Dvoress. With the title in the last tournament, he set a new record in the series. The Canadian became the first player in history to win three titles in the same Triton stage. Before this victory, he had already won Event #1 and the Main Event PLO.

Thus, the player praised his performance in the four-card game, the format in which he won the two most recent titles. “I really love this game. I think it’s even more fun than Hold’em. But, for sure, I am 100% less skilled at this game than at Hold’em”, declared the Canadian.

Finally, it is worth highlighting that Dvoress had to overcome a PLO specialist to win the three-peat. Lautaro Guerra finished in second place and received US$ 234 thousand. The legendary Finn Patrik Antonius completed the podium, with a total reward of US$ 231,500.
