One of the most traditional moments of the WSOP involves Phil Hellmuth’s triumphant entrance at the Main Event. The owner of 17 bracelets usually stops the entire room with extravagant presentations and striking costumes. Over the years, he has appeared dressed as a lion tamer, Roman emperor, and various other iconic characters. However, the big question this time revolves around the costume chosen for this season.

Naturally, the “Poker Brat” keeps the theme of his entrance a secret. However, some clues have started to emerge in recent days. One appeared during the “BetRivers Table Talk” podcast, presented by PokerNews. During the interview, Hellmuth indicated that he intends to enter dressed as a superhero at the WSOP Main Event.
Thus, the character he chose represents a true classic of pop culture. “The Main Event entrance is coming. Dressed as Superman, but with Superman’s black suit. My son, Nick… Batman. Phillip… Green Lantern. ‘Jungleman’ is talking about being Captain America, maybe”, said Hellmuth.
Additionally, host Chad Holloway highlighted a curious detail about the characters mentioned. The first three belong to DC Comics, while Captain America is part of Marvel. However, the WSOP bracelet record holder showed no concern about mixing universes. “Yes, yes, yes, but what can you do?”, replied the “Poker Brat”.

WSOP Main Event remains the biggest dream in poker

The WSOP Main Event remains the most desired tournament in the world of poker. The extremely slow structure, the “freezeout” format, the thousands of participants, and the traditional $10,000 buy-in turn the competition into a true spectacle of the mind sport. Therefore, competing in the tournament represents an unforgettable moment for any professional or recreational player.
In addition, Hellmuth won the WSOP Main Event in 1989. At the time, he was only 24 years old and defeated the legendary Johnny Chan in heads-up. The victory made Phil Hellmuth the youngest world champion in history up to that point. Due to his explosive personality at the tables, he also earned the nickname “Poker Brat,” a term known as “the poker brat.”
Finally, it is worth recalling Hellmuth’s last visit to Brazil. During the MILLIONS South America 2019, held in Rio de Janeiro, the American starred in another memorable entrance. The poker star entered the room accompanied by the drumline of a samba school and stole the scene in front of Brazilian fans. Thus, he showed that, as a sambista, he continues to be an excellent poker player.
