Event 3 is the traditional opening tournament of the WSOP, made especially for employees of the poker and casino industry. And André Welt, who is a dealer, went to the felt in Las Vegas (USA), finishing only in sixth place out of a field of 901 entries. For his performance, the Brazilian earned US$ 11,052.
André Welt’s elimination came in a triple all-in. At blinds 80,000/160,000 bb ante 160,000, Michael Schlittler made a miniraise from the hijack, and on the button, Welt 3-bet all-in for 1,520,000. Jerome Neppl called from the big blind, and Schlittler, who had 1,700,000 at the start of the hand, went all-in over the top. After another call from Neppl, the three went to showdown.

André Welt showed AKs, while Schlittler revealed QQ, and Neppl, A9s. The board did not change the pre-flop scenario, and Schlittler managed to take the good pot, while the Brazilian was eliminated. Pot winner Schlittler reached fourth place, but Neppl went even further and won his first career bracelet.
A dealer in the U.S. state of New Mexico, Jerome Neppl had already started the Final Day, out of 136 left, leading in chips. He showed great skill in managing the stack and never left the spotlight, securing the prize of US$ 64,083 and the bracelet.
