Exactly one year and one day after winning his first career title at Triton, Richard Gryko returned to the top of the series. The Brit won Event #17 US$ 75K PLO – 6Max and pocketed a prize of US$ 1,243,000. To lift the trophy, he had to overcome none other than Jason Koon in the decisive heads-up.

Thus, the Pot-Limit Omaha specialist continues to accumulate great results in the four-card game. In March, for example, Gryko won US$ 1.2 million by finishing second in the PLO Main Event in Jeju, South Korea. “You try to make money, obviously, but it’s a lot of fun to be in these rooms with these people and play this game”, the Brit declared after the victory.

Moreover, the journey to the title had extremely challenging moments. Richard Gryko comfortably led Day 2 but faced difficulties during the payout bubble period. At that moment, he had to face Jason Koon, Triton’s record title holder and owner of 12 trophies in the series. The American appeared as the most dangerous opponent in the tournament’s final stretch.

Therefore, the confrontations against Jason Koon represented the champion’s biggest obstacles. “I was having a lot of fun until Jason was moved to my left”, Gryko said. The Brit also revealed that he lost important chips during the bubble. “I dodged and evaded, got a bit lucky until the heads-up”, the player added.

Richard Gryko started the final table with only the fifth largest stack among the six survivors. At that moment, Jason Koon was comfortably leading after dominating the bubble period. Another notable name in the decision was Mike Watson, who had already won two titles in this stage of Triton.

However, the moment truly belonged to the Brit. Gryko reached the heads-up at a considerable chip disadvantage, but used all his PLO experience to quickly even the contest. Shortly after, he took the lead and confirmed the victory. Jason Koon finished as runner-up and took US$ 879,000 for second place.

Finally, it is worth noting that Richard Gryko’s profile on “The Hendon Mob” records US$ 8,844,868 in live tournament earnings. With this new million-dollar result, the Brit should surpass the US$ 10 million mark in live career earnings. Additionally, the Triton title and the runner-up finish in the Jeju PLO Main Event already stand as the biggest results of his career.
