José Carlos Brito guarantees $55K in tournament at Wynn Summer Classic

It is not only from the WSOP tournaments that Brazilians live in Las Vegas. “Sin City” breathes poker all year round and, in the North American summer, other casinos in the city also organize important series. This is the case of the traditional Wynn Casino, where the Brazilian José Carlos Brito achieved another great result.

In addition to this, the player from Bahia faced a field of 855 entries in the US$ 1,100 NLH, an event that is part of the Wynn Summer Classic. Without being intimidated by the competition, Brito once again showed the strength of Brazilians in the United States. He finished the competition in 5th place, securing a prize of US$ 55,640.

However, the great champion of the tournament was the Argentine Luciano Macchiarelli. The South American player stood at the top of the podium and received US$ 180,715 for the victory. It is worth remembering that, last year, he also had a great moment at the same casino, when he found a mysterious envelope of US$ 250 thousand.

Thus, the podium of the competition also included two other representatives from the United States. Timothy Barchie finished in second place and took US$ 122,293. Meanwhile, Alexander Tafesh completed the top 3, increasing his bankroll by US$ 93,214. The series at Wynn will continue until July 13, alongside the WSOP competition.

However, this is not the first time that José Carlos Brito has achieved good prizes in Las Vegas. According to “The Hendon Mob,” the Brazilian has more than US$ 155 thousand in live circuit earnings. Most of the rewards he has obtained happened precisely in tournaments held in the United States.

Thus, the performance at the Wynn Casino became the largest prize of the player’s career. Before that, his main result was US$ 34,433, won in 2023. On that occasion, Brito finished in second place in Event #65 (US$ 600 NLH Mystery Bounty) of the Venetian DeepStack Championship.

Finally, it is worth highlighting that Brito has accumulated results in the United States since 2018. In fact, the first prize recorded on “The Hendon Mob” was already accompanied by a title. The Brazilian won the US$ 200 NLH at Cassino Rio, the former home of the WSOP, and secured a payout of US$ 12,895.
