Jamie Dwan achieved the biggest result of his career this Saturday (11), during the World Series of Poker (WSOP). The Brit won the Event #90: $50,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em and secured his first bracelet in the series, as well as the prize of $2,276,691.

Thus, the final brought together some of the biggest names in world poker. The tournament recorded 202 entries and distributed $9,595,000 in prizes. In total, 13 players returned for the final day in search of the title.
Meanwhile, Daniel Rezaei reached the heads-up with a large chip lead. However, Jamie Dwan fought back, turned the match around, and confirmed the victory to rise to the top of the podium and now appear in “The Hendon Mob” with $3,095,819 in live poker circuit earnings.
On the other hand, the title had a special meaning for the Brit. After the win, Dwan revealed that he wanted to return home with a bracelet for his mother. “My mother is not doing very well, and all I wanted this summer was to come back to her with a bracelet. I achieved that in one of the biggest tournaments of the year. It means a lot to me”, he said in an interview with PokerNews.

Jamie Dwan surpasses big stars
However, the path to the title was not simple. After all, Jamie Dwan had to overcome opponents like Daniel Negreanu, Erik Seidel, Kristen Foxen, Bryn Kenney, and Daniel Rezaei himself. Additionally, he eliminated Negreanu by winning a coin flip with A-K against 99.
In the decisive stretch, Daniel Rezaei eliminated Bryn Kenney in third place and started the heads-up with a five-to-one chip lead. Still, Dwan regained control of the table and confirmed the victory when his A-J held against the Austrian’s A-10 in the final hand.
Finally, Daniel Rezaei received $1,517,782 for the runner-up finish, while Bryn Kenney took $1,041,908 for third place. Daniel Negreanu ended his campaign in eighth place and earned $226,086, missing out on his second bracelet in this WSOP edition.
