The Main Event of BSOP Winter 2026 recorded 1,315 entries, distributing more than R$ 5.1 million. By beating the entire field and securing the title, Antônio Santichio pocketed R$ 850 thousand. Even participating in several High Rollers and attending editions of BSOP One, this was the biggest cash recorded by the businessman in live tournaments.

In a dominating final table, Antônio Santichio did not need more than three hands to dispatch Alexandre Arantes in the heads-up. In a duel between players from the São Paulo countryside, the player from Ribeirão Preto (SP) took second place and a payout of R$ 560 thousand. Finally, Renato Lordão, from Porto Alegre (RS), completed the podium.

Chip leader at the start of the FT, Wilkens Monteiro had a disastrous sequence of hands. Right in the first one, he received KK but ran into Santichio’s AA in a cooler that, even involving big stacks, had all the chips in the middle. The J9245 flop confirmed Santichio’s victory in the pot and left Monteiro short-stacked. Soon after, he left the competition, still securing a pay jump.

And that cooler was just one of Antônio Santichio’s bright moments at the final table. The good run lasted until the heads-up, where the businessman started at a disadvantage, but also on the first hand, turned the score around. With K6o, he made a runner-runner straight on the 872T9 board and managed to extract chips from Arantes all the way to the river, as the opponent did not find the fold with QQ.

Two hands later, Arantes tried to double by shoving pre-flop with AJo, and Santichio, with 88, had no trouble calling. The pre-flop scenario held on the Q73K9 board, and the businessman celebrated in the room. Being a well-known and beloved figure among poker peers, Santichio had his victory celebrated by many at the venue, with applause and hugs.
