Felipe Ketzer makes semi-FT in valuable Main Event in Northern Cyprus

Brazilian Felipe Ketzer returned to compete in tournaments at the Merit Royal Casino & Hotel, located in Kyrenia, Northern Cyprus. The venue hosted the NOIR Poker Series, and in the US$ 5,500 Main Event, the Brazilian reached the semi-final table.

The competition registered a field of 769 entries, generating a prize pool of US$ 3.6 million. Among the opponents, Felipe Ketzer was able to finish in 18th place. For this performance, the only Brazilian representative in the Main Event ITM pocketed US$ 34,000.

At the end of the Main Event, the title went to Turkish player Selahaddin Bedir. The second biggest winner from Turkey in live tournaments in history, he overcame the entire field to claim a beautiful US$ 525,000. On the same stage, the player had already earned several other notable payouts, such as the title of Event 4 of the 2021 Super High Roller Bowl Europe, which had a buy-in of US$ 50,000 and earned him US$ 832,000.

Right after the final table witnessed quick eliminations, Bedir needed about two hours to overcome Konstantin Voronin in the heads-up. Although the duel extended, the Turk never lost the lead, and after two double-ups, the Russian failed to get a third, with his QTs being beaten by Bedir’s A3o on the K5243 board.

Besides Bedir, other final table stars like Manuel Fritz and Felipe Ketzer, the payout zone of the NOIR Poker Series Main Event featured big names. Fahredin Mustafov, for example, came close to the final table, finishing 12th for US$ 46,200. EPT Main Event champions, such as Nicolas Chouity (22nd, US$ 30,600) and Arsenii Karmatckii (37th, US$ 19,000) also stood out.
