Professional Carlos Ribeiro achieved the highest figure among Brazil’s numerous outstanding results this Thursday (15) on GGPoker. He reached the heads-up of the Thursday Throwdown HR, a weekly US$1,050 buy-in event, and collected a prize equivalent to over R$190,000.

This edition of the Thursday Throwdown HR registered 382 entries, and Carlos Ribeiro went all the way, making it to the tournament’s one-on-one final. He was eventually defeated in the heads-up, but the second place earned him US$35,766, a record prize among Brazilians in the session.
In Event 33 (US$88 Crystal Ball) of the Winter Giveaway Series, played in Mystery Bounty, a Brazilian came close to Carlos Ribeiro’s figure. João Ricardo Duarte, known as “Ranges Mutaveis”, finished fifth in the massive field of 9,422 entries, turning the accessible buy-in into US$35,725.

And just like Carlos Ribeiro, other Brazilians took great advantage of GGPoker’s valuable regular tournaments. In the Bounty Hunters HR US$525, Renan Meneguetti was fifth out of 874 for US$16,568, with Jonathan Wolter, aka “designed2win”, in seventh (US$11,448). In the Bounty Hunters Big Game US$215, Daniel Wellington, aka “danielwbr”, finished second among 911 players and walked away with US$12,635.
Finally, in the Winter Giveaway side events, two Brazilians made it to the podium of the US$250 Daily Winter Freezeout. Breno Drumond was second out of 619 and pocketed US$16,163, with Erick Mossinger, aka “xErick”, right behind in third for US$12,463. In the US$44 Frost Forty Stack, Brazil took the win with “Bolot@”, the best among 2,358 participants and owner of a payout of US$11,347.
