The inaugural Triton Montenegro tournament attracted 146 entries, and Daniel Dvoress earned US$ 849 thousand for the victory. In the heads-up, he overcame the host country representative Dejan Kaladjurdjevic, who led for much of the Final Day but was unable to overcome the Canadian’s momentum in the decisive duel. For second place, he earned US$ 575 thousand.
These were the two largest shares of the US$ 3,650,000 prize pool, divided among the top 23 finishers. Besides Dvoress and Kaladjurdjevic, the final table also featured highlights such as Paul Phua, Samuel Mullur, and Ben Tollerene. Wiktor Malinowski (10th, US$ 71,000) missed the final, while other big names like Mehdi Chaoui (14th, US$ 56,500) and Mikita Badziakouski (18th, US$ 46,000) were in the ITM.

With this victory, Daniel Dvoress completes the “triple” of the Triton festivals. In each stage, the series holds competitions in only three variants: Hold’em, Omaha, and Short Deck. In the other two, the Canadian had already won the trophy, and now, he also places his name among the champions in the most traditional variant.
Triton Montenegro will hold competitions until the 28th, serving as a luxury “warm-up” for the WSOP, which starts on the 26th. Brazil is expected to be among the high-stakes events of the festival, as João Simão was in this Event 1, although he was eliminated before the bubble. Still, it is an indication that the green and yellow flag is present.
