Eduardo Silva had already been the only Brazilian to advance to Day 4, starting in 43º place in the chip count of 49 players. Regarding the chip count, he still managed a slight improvement, and in a total field of 1.474 entries, he finished in 41º place. For his run, he pocketed € 19.800.

Eduardo Silva narrowly missed a good payjump. He was the last to be paid in that bracket, and the Italian Mario Colavita, eliminated shortly after in 40º, was already able to collect a prize of € 21.325.

How Eduardo Silva’s elimination happened

The Brazilian was already holding on, hoping for eliminations at other tables to move up in the final standings. However, when he received KTo and found himself with 30.000 chips at blinds 10.000/20.000, he put it all on the line. Lithuanian Tomas Jozonis and Frenchman Gael Djenkal played for a side pot.

On the Q372 board with 72 of spades, Jozonis bet on the turn, attracting a call from Djenkal. However, on the river 3 of diamonds, the first card of that suit on the table, the Frenchman did not call another bet from the Lithuanian. At the showdown, Jozonis showed 99, and his pairs of 9s and 3s beat Eduardo Silva, who got no help from the deck.

Main Event narrowing down

The EPT Paris Main Event will have one more stage on Saturday (28) before crowning its champion on Sunday (1º). Expectations are for a good fight, as the prize pool reached a remarkable € 7.075.200. The minimum payout for the final table will be € 106.150, and the prize reserved for the champion is € 1.148.600.
