In just over two hours, the decision went from seven to two players, confirming the heads-up between American Lucas Jumalon and Finnish Lauri Saaskilahti.

Chip leader throughout the final table, Lucas Jumalon will start the heads-up with an advantage, holding 328,000,000 chips against Saaskilahti’s 225,000,000. The action stopped at blinds 1,500,000/3,000,000 bb ante 3,000,000, right after Greg Mueller’s third-place elimination. Therefore, both will have good playability to contest the very important duel.
Day 2 of the WSOP Main Event final table saw Jamie Shaevel as the first eliminated. Third in chip count at the start of the FT, the cash game professional could not recover from the short stack he had at the time and left the competition in seventh place for US$ 1.5 million.
A similar scenario occurred with Canadian Rami Hammoud, who took a hit and found no alternatives before finishing sixth, taking home US$ 1.75 million. Han Feng, in fifth, suffered a cruel downfall, with his AA being cracked by a runner-runner straight from Saaskilahti, thus leaving with US$ 2.25 million.

Shortly after these actions happened in a short time, Michael Gagliano found himself as the short stack, while the other three remaining players had good stacks. With about 3 bbs behind, he did not find the fold with KQs even facing Jumalon’s KJo, as a J appeared on the turn.
Everything faster than expected
The plan was to end Day 2 of the FT with three players, but as everything unfolded quickly, the organization saw room for the action to continue. And shortly after, Greg Mueller left the competition, not finding the fold with T4o on the AA4J3 board and being beaten by Saaskilahti’s KK.
Thus, only Lucas Jumalon and Lauri Saaskilahti will return for the decisive round of the WSOP Main Event this Wednesday (5) at 10 PM (Brasília time). The runner-up will take home US$ 6 million, while the champion, besides being immortalized in the history of world poker, will pocket US$ 10 million and win the most coveted bracelet.
