Mario Boos turned the dream into reality by securing a spot at the final table of the WSOP 2026 Main Event. The Frenchman entered the biggest poker tournament in the world with US$ 239,888 in career winnings and has now guaranteed at least US$ 1 million, the largest prize of his career.

Thus, the qualification went through a decisive moment during Day 8. In an all-in against Han Feng, Boos risked the tournament with a pair of tens against the opponent’s AK. Although he considered folding, he took on the challenge and won the confrontation, securing a huge pot that propelled him to the final table.
Additionally, Mario Boos explained that he preferred to fight for the title rather than secure a jump in the prize money. According to the Frenchman, the battle for the bracelet was more important. “It was incredible because Malcolm was short stack. I had to make a decision: secure a US$ 250,000 jump in the prize money or play for the win. I chose the bracelet”, he said in an interview with PokerNews.
In this way, the Frenchman also had the support of a large crowd throughout the final stretch of the tournament. However, Mario Boos will have a few days to prepare before the Main Event resumes, scheduled for August 3 in Las Vegas. The Frenchman is sixth in the chip count and stated that he intends to rest, return home, and use the time to study his opponents before the decision.
Nevertheless, Boos’s performance impresses due to his recovery throughout the tournament. After ending Day 1D with about one-third of the starting stack, he managed to rebuild his chip stack and was among the leaders at the end of Day 5, consolidating a high-level campaign.
