In addition to the major disputes of the traditional BSOP Winter schedule, the first day of the series in São Paulo (SP) also hosted the Brazilian Team Poker Championship (CBPE). In the initial round, 22 teams went to the tables to define the 12 finalists, and Santa Catarina scored the most points.

The team from Santa Catarina leads the CBPE standings after Day 1 with 101 points. They are followed by their neighbors from Paraná, with 92 points, and Minas Gerais closes the top 3 with 78 points. Two-time champion Goiás comes next, and current champion Rio de Janeiro closes the list of the 12 qualified teams.

The Santa Catarina team lives up to the expectation it created when it announced its roster for this CBPE. Led by Brazilian champion Rodrigo Garrido, Kelvin Kerber, Gabriel Schroeder, Belarmino Souza, Johnatan “Dodô” Oliveira, Camila Kons, and Murilo Felício are at the tables representing the state.

And in addition, several other pros went to the felt for the team competition. One of the highlights of the round was the heads-up between Minas Gerais x São Paulo, which pitted Samba Team teammates Gabriel Tavares and Pedro Padilha against each other, proving the high level of the tournament.
On this first day, the CBPE promoted Hold’em and Omaha disputes, with 6-Max, Win The Button, and Dealer’s Choice variants, as well as heads-up duels. This Wednesday (22), starting at 2 PM (Brasília time), a Deep Stack Dealer’s Choice NLH and PLO KO tournament will distribute the final points of the competition.
