On a Wednesday (22) full of titles in São Paulo (SP), the BSOP Winter crowned the champion of its Event 1. Afrânio Machado was the best in the Start-Up Mystery Bounty, a Gold Tournament with a R$ 1,500 buy-in that traditionally opens the stages of the Brazilian circuit.

As well as Daniel Wellington, who performed well on the first day of the series, Afrânio Machado is also a frequent figure at online tables. On several occasions, he has been a Brazilian highlight in the grinds of the main sites. This time, the representative from Angra dos Reis (RJ) went to the live tables and beat a total field of 886 entries to win a total of R$ 147,500.
The prize awarded to Afrânio Machado for first place was R$ 100,000, but he also collected knockout chips, which entitled him to envelopes of random values. Thus, he added another R$ 47,500, reaching the final figure.

In the heads-up, Machado defeated Gabriel Cabello, who, for second place, pocketed R$ 67,000. However, the player from Praia Grande (SP) left with an even bigger prize than the champion. This is because he drew the most valuable envelope among the available bounties, worth R$ 100,000.
In regular payouts alone, the BSOP Winter Start-Up distributed R$ 576,600, an amount divided among the top 133 finishers. Completing the podium was Diego Franzini, a player from the capital of São Paulo, winning R$ 46,000 plus bounties. The FT also had foreign presence with Argentine Angel Teicher in fifth.
