Brazilian Iago Botelho achieved another notable result for Brazil at this WSOP Paradise. After João Simão won a bracelet and others went far, the professional managed to finish among the best in Event 14, the live version of the GGMillion$, with a buy-in of US$25,000.

At the end of Day 2, the decisive round of the competition, Iago Botelho finished in fourth place out of 287 entries. For this excellent performance, he pocketed US$512,800. The result is certainly commendable, however, the Brazilian had advanced to the Final Day, with 6 players left, in the chip lead.
Iago Botelho’s journey in the final stage of the GGMillion$ did not allow him to go further. Early on, he suffered a major setback when he lost a triple all-in to Frenchman Johan Guilbert, in a hand that also eliminated Michael Moncek. Moments later, Guilbert sealed the Brazilian’s elimination by beating him with 99 against JT.
And it was precisely the Frenchman who ended up as the champion. In an impeccable Final Day, where he started with an intermediate stack but quickly accumulated chips, the player won his first bracelet and a prize of US$1,534,645. He defeated Finn Eelis Parssinen in heads-up, ending a three-heads-up World Series drought without a title.

Without a doubt, Iago Botelho will end 2025 very differently from how he was at the beginning of the year. Throughout the calendar, he has been in the spotlight for gigantic achievements, especially online. In the first half, he won the SCOOP Main Event-High on PokerStars, earning a prize similar to this most recent one.
In addition, also at the virtual tables, he won the first bracelet of his career. On GGPoker, he won Event 20 (US$800 NLH Ultra Deepstack) of the WSOP Online.
