And the person responsible for this result was none other than Pedro Padilha, partner of the Samba Team and one of the most renowned players in the national scene. The title earned a robust six-figure payout.

At ACR Poker, Pedro Padilha plays under the nickname “PeDeAnjo7”, and in this week’s US$ 10,300 Phil’s Thrill, he overcame a field of 62 entries. For this achievement, he pocketed US$ 173,600, the largest share of the US$ 620k prize pool, which rewarded the top seven finishers.
The last opponent in Padilha’s path was “BBRS999” from Russia. The player made two entries and ended up with the US$ 124k prize awarded to the runner-up. In the final hand, the Brazilian made a straight on the turn, and taking advantage of the Russian’s aggression, executed a check-raise all in and got called. With AKo, “BBRS999” had nothing more than a top pair.

Only Moneymaker can stop Pedro Padilha
The Brazilian pro proved he was focused and inspired in the ACR Poker contests this Sunday. That’s because, besides the huge title, Pedro Padilha was also at the final table of the US$ 2,650 Mini Phil’s Thrill, a cheaper version of the tournament.
And among 75 entries, Padilha took seventh place, adding another US$ 10,500 to his bankroll. The title went to none other than Chris Moneymaker, poker legend and site ambassador, earning US$ 45k for the achievement.
