The Goliath 2026 made poker history. After all, the tournament held in the United Kingdom recorded 14,663 entries, becoming the largest poker event outside of Las Vegas. The competition distributed a prize pool of £2,228,780. As a result, Damon Burch-Hyson won the title and took home £365,520 after a deal among the final four players.

Thus, the champion turned an investment of only £200 into a huge prize. If converted to Brazilian reais, the prize approaches R$ 2.5 million. Meanwhile, Lewis Aikman, Jonny Elworthy, and Dayle Gallagher completed the deal and secured significant payouts in the tournament’s final decision.
In this way, the decisive day began with 36 competitors still in contention for the title. However, two former Goliath champions could not repeat the feat. Paul Worsley, winner of the previous edition, finished in 27th place, while Alex Todd, 2023 champion, ended in 25th place.
Additionally, Nicholas Fellone was eliminated in tenth place, setting the final table. From that moment, the nine finalists had already secured £26,000, but all were still chasing the maximum prize reserved for the champion.

However, right at the start of the final table, Bryan Taylor left the competition after running into Damon Burch-Hyson‘s pair of aces. Next, Nittin Sonawane, Wai Lun Lam, Lorenc Boci, and Reema Bodalia were also eliminated. With that, the four survivors paused the action to negotiate a deal, leaving £88,520 at stake for the champion.
However, after the deal, Dayle Gallagher was the first eliminated after losing an all-in against Lewis Aikman. Then, the decision ended with a double elimination. Jonny Elworthy fell in third place, while Aikman took the runner-up spot. Since Elworthy secured his spot through GGPoker, he also received an additional bonus of £33,466, equivalent to 20% of his payout.
Finally, Damon Burch-Hyson confirmed the victory and lifted the Goliath 2026 trophy. Besides the title, he pocketed £365,520, an amount £20 higher than the originally planned first-place prize thanks to the deal made among the finalists.
