Day 4 of the US$ 10,000 Main Event at the WSOP (World Series of Poker) was full of excitement. Besides the bubble burst, which took Chris Moneymaker and two others out, several other notable hands caught attention. One of them was a triple cooler involving Farah Galfond.

One of the players in the hand had AA, but surprisingly, the pocket pair became the third strongest combination right after the flop. And Farah Galfond, even hitting a set – that is, three of a kind with a pocket pair – was also not leading. Obviously, all chips went to the center while the table watched the play unfold in astonishment.
The cooler action
The play happened at blinds 6,000/12,000 bb ante 12,000. Shown on the Main Event broadcast, the hand already had the flop J93 on the table. Jeremy Moore announced all in with 315,000 chips, and Farah Galfond went all in over it with 461,000. Jordan Griff, with a slightly bigger stack, was the last involved and called.

At showdown, the shock of all. Moore showed JJ, while Galfond revealed 99, and Griff showed AA. The set of J left Galfond, with the set of 9, hoping for a miracle, and Griff, with AA, had a bit more chance. However, the turn was a 6, and the river showed another 3.
With the bigger full house, Jeremy Moore tripled his chips, reaching the million mark. Griff suffered a slice that contributed to his fall moments later, exiting with US$ 25,000. And Farah Galfond, finally, also pocketed the same payout, saying goodbye in the brutal triple all-in.
