Brazil was represented at the final table of the Event 86 (US$ 600 Ultra Stack NLH) of the WSOP (World Series of Poker). This Thursday (9) in Las Vegas (USA), Renato Roizenblit came just steps away from the bracelet, achieving an excellent result in a huge field. In the end, the title went to American Eric Weber, who won his first golden bracelet of his career.

Among giants 8,007 entries, Renato Roizenblit was able to reach eighth place. For this campaign, the Brazilian earned US$ 50,000. Upon confirming the title, Eric Weber pocketed US$ 400,000, a robust return on the accessible buy-in. Also on the podium were the French Henry Benamram and the Finnish Mikko Torkki.

The third and decisive stage of WSOP Event 86 started with 16 players, and the big highlight at the start of the decisive round was the Indian Sriharsha Doddapaneni. He built a good stack and put pressure on opponents, making some eliminations, including that of Renato Roizenblit.
At blinds 1,500,000/3,000,000 bb ante 3,000,000, the Indian made an initial raise and received calls from the Brazilian and Weber. On the flop QJ6 rainbow, Roizenblit started with a check, and Doddapaneni c-bet 5,500,000. Weber folded, and the Brazilian made a check-raise to 11,000,000. The Indian responded with a call.

On the turn, the K of diamonds, the second card of the suit on the board, appeared. This time, Roizenblit opted for a check-call after a bet of 9,000,000 from Doddapaneni, and on the river 4 of diamonds, the Indian put the Brazilian all in after another check. Roizenblit tanked and chose to call, but his QJo was not enough to beat Doddapaneni’s ATo, in a two pair versus straight showdown.
The turnaround at the final table
Doddapaneni’s dominance continued until he lost a big pot against Benamram. With his stack compromised, he tried to double with A8, but ran into Weber’s KK, and left the competition in fourth. Weber and Benamram shared the spotlight until they reached heads-up, with practically equal stacks.
The American was showing growth, but the Frenchman did not give up. Finally, when he managed to pull ahead, Weber saw KK help him again, appearing right when Benamram announced the all in. The call came without problems, and the Frenchman showed J9, without receiving the necessary help from the board.
