Sunday (26) of BSOP Winter witnessed the formation of the final table of the R$ 5,000 Main Event. Wilkens Monteiro, from Goiânia (GO), will start the final leading in chips, competing for some of the main prizes of the mid-year stage of the Brazilian circuit, in São Paulo (SP).

The BSOP Winter Main Event totaled 1,315 entries, with 668 unique players, generating a prize pool of over R$ 5.1 million. On Day 3, 59 competitors returned to the WTC Sheraton hall to compete for the nine seats at the FT, and Wilkens Monteiro ended the round with 10,100,000 chips.
Next in line is the São Paulo businessman Antônio Santichio, with 9,200,000. Ewerton Barros, from Fortaleza (CE), closes the top 3 with 7,410,000. The qualifiers have already secured at least R$ 73,450, with a prize of R$ 850 thousand reserved for the champion.

The crucial hand for Wilkens Monteiro to reach the chip lead happened late in Day 3. This is because, with 77, he eliminated Leandro Shymansk, who tried to double up with Q9o. The board did not bring the help the opponent needed, and the player from Goiânia surged ahead, managing the good lead until the moment of bagging the chips.
The final table of the BSOP Winter Main Event will take place this Monday (27) at 2 pm (Brasília time), resuming action at blinds 80,000/160,000 bb ante 160,000. Finally, it is worth noting that, as a Gold Tournament, the champion will take, in addition to the prize money, a gold protect card valued in six digits.
