Pedro Padilha takes the lead in the 100K Super High Roller of the BSOP Winter

Among the attractions on Thursday (23) at BSOP Winter was Day 1 of the R$ 100.000 Super High Roller, the most expensive tournament of the festival. After a cautious start, the inaugural round of the competition ended with only one table, and Pedro Padilha was the one who bagged the most chips.

Day 1 of the Super High Roller registered 11 entries, and eight players advanced. The numbers are modest because, probably, some players are adopting the “max late” strategy. That is, registering in the tournament as close as possible to the end of the late registration period. And the competition will only close this period during Day 2.

Among the eight who passed, Pedro Padilha leads with 646,000 chips. Léo Rizzo follows closely with 589,000, and Alisson Piekazewicz completes the top 3 with 445,000. The rest of the chip count is composed only of professionals, and according to the list of registrants, those eliminated on Day 1 were Felipe Boianovsky, Matheus Machado, and the Portuguese Hugo Machado.

The BSOP Winter Super High Roller schedule foresees Day 2 this Friday (24) at 2 PM (Brasília time), resuming action with blinds 3,000/6,000 bb ante 6,000 and 40-minute levels until the end of late registrations, at 5:50 PM. From then on, blinds will last 60 minutes. The starting stack is 250,000 chips, and according to the structure, there will be ten levels in the round.

This is the most expensive tournament at BSOP Winter, but that doesn’t mean the High Roller disputes will end after it. On Sunday (26), the event will kick off the 25K BSOP Championship, in addition to holding a one-day 50K. Finally, the Grand High Roller, also 50K, arrives next week.
