Maurice Hawkins made history again at the WSOP Circuit. The American won the title of the Mini Main Event at the Choctaw stage and earned US$ 76,380. With this result, he reached the 26th ring of the series and further extended the competition’s historic record.

Thus, the campaign required a great comeback in the final. Hawkins faced a heads-up against Brian Green and was down to just six big blinds. Even so, he managed the turnaround and secured another ring for his collection. The runner-up received US$ 50,900.
However, the final table also featured big names. Will Givens finished in third place and took home US$ 35,450, while Ari Engel came in fourth and pocketed US$ 25,170. With this result, Engel remained with 20 WSOP Circuit rings, six fewer than Hawkins.
Meanwhile, Maurice Hawkins highlighted the experience gained over the years on the circuit. “I have the recipe and I’m spreading it all over America. I discovered some things about my game and about others’ games. Now I’m just applying it”, he said after the victory.

Additionally, Maurice Hawkins‘s new title extended his lead in the race for WSOP Circuit rings. The American now has 26 wins, while Ari Engel and Daniel Lowery are tied for second place, both with 20 rings.
However, Hawkins stated that he feels more comfortable in WSOP Circuit events than in the big Las Vegas festivals. “After a while, it’s always the same poker tournament. When you face weaker players, you accumulate chips much more frequently”, said the record holder.
Finally, Maurice Hawkins also commented on the financial problems he faced in recent months. Despite difficulties off the tables, the player assured he is going through a good moment in his personal life. “My family is very well. All my children are successful. My health is where it needs to be. I have no worries. God is good”, he concluded in an interview with Poker.org.
