Those who follow the national poker scene are likely already familiar with the image of Kaio Camargo. A professional in the discipline, the player is a frequent figure in online competitions. And at the BSOP Floripa, in the city where he lives, he went to the tables to win the R$ 4,000 Main Event.

Kaio Camargo emerged as the champion in a field that totaled 892 entries, and by winning the FT this Tuesday (8), secured R$ 379 thousand. The original amount was R$ 500 thousand, but there was an agreement among the five players who went the farthest, redistributing the remaining prize pool.
In the heads-up, Camargo stopped the momentum of Gustavo Nicoletti, who took R$ 249 thousand for second place. Nicoletti had been the protagonist of the final table, but by calling an all-in from Camargo with 55, he lost to A4o on the A63K2 board, in a hand that turned the trend of the FT already at 3-handed.
Shortly after that, Kaio Camargo eliminated Tiago Dutra to reach the HU with an advantage, and everything ended in an all-in on the 942 flop. With two diamonds on the board, Nicoletti showed K8 of diamonds, while Camargo held K9 of hearts. The turn was the 7 of clubs, and the river, the T of spades, frustrating Nicoletti’s flush hope and ending the contest.

The title was special for Kaio Camargo for several reasons. Whether for being the professional’s first BSOP Main Event, or for being a victory at home. But without a doubt, the way he got to the tournament puts a cherry on top.
This is because, as the player confessed to the BSOP 360 portal, he participated in the Main Event through an online satellite, held on PokerStars. On that occasion, he paid US$ 215 and won the package, which besides the tournament seat, gave him accommodation at the festival’s headquarters. Thus, the return on investment was even greater.
